Survey for Methods and Practices-myassignmenthelp.com

Question: Discuss about theSurvey for Methods and Practices. Answer: Surveys are an important part of collecting information in a systematic way. Different types of method are used to collect information such as primary and secondary data collection methods. Moreover, qualitative and quantitative methods are used for data analysis depending on the topic of the survey. While doing a survey the whole population is taken into consideration, which is known as universe, or sometimes a part of the population is used for specification. The data that are collected in the form of survey helps in addressing the research question and summarize precisely (Statcan.gc.ca, 2018). There are certain advantages and disadvantages of conducting a survey. It helps in gathering pertinent information from a relatively larger population at a very low cost. For instance when the survey is conducted using questionnaire only the printing cost is required. Moreover, the questionnaire can be sent through mails and fax and distributed by hand. Therefore, it becomes effective in reaching out to a larger population. There is no scope of observer bias as the questions are properly scrutinized (Explorable.com, 2018). On the other hand, survey has a rigid design, which makes it difficult to change in the beginning as per the supervision method. It cannot be changed in between the process of gathering data too. The controversial issues are not revealed through survey, which is a demerit on its part. Surveys with open- ended questions are not effective in gathering proper information and respondents might not feel comfortable in answering those. References Explorable.com.
